하인리히 교수는 주사 터널링 현미경(STM)을 이용한 나노 양자 스핀 연구의 세계적인 전문가로서 IBM 알마덴 연구소에 재직할 때 원자로 만든 애니메이션 “A boy and his atom” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_and_His_Atom) 을 제작한바 있습니다.
현재 이화여자대학교 석좌 교수 및 양자나노과학 IBS 연구단 단장으로 재직중이며. 원자 스핀 하나 하나를 조작하는 양자컴퓨팅 연구에서 주목할 만한 연구 성과를 거두었습니다. 미국 물리학회 석학 회원으로서 Heinrich Rohrer 메달 (2020), 훔볼트 연구상 (2023) 등을 수상하였습니다. 자세한 내용은 위키피디아 (https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/안드레아스 하인리히) 참조 바랍니다.
Professor Heinrich is a world-renowned expert in nano quantum spin research using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).
During his tenure at the IBM Almaden Research Institute, he produced the animation “A boy and his atom” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_and_His_Atom) made of individual atoms.

He is currently serving as a Distinguished Professor at Ewha Womans University and Director of the IBS Research Center for Quantum Nanoscience. He has pioneered a new research field of spin qubits based on atomic spin. He is a fellow member of the American Physical Society and has received the Heinrich Rohrer Medal (2020), Humboldt Research Award (2023), etc.
